i'm from chicago and we have a different accent than most too. i didnt realize it until i met people from utah lol.

i think it is more od a regional thing, i went to chicago and the waitress asked me "what part of the south are you from" i replied "about 1 hour south of chicago" lol

a better question that ive always wondered is why is are there so many different languages in the first place? I mean, i understand if people who were completly seperated from each other on different parts of the globe would have different languages, but i read somewhere that there is possibly 6000 different languages out there!
