Thanx. No you can't get those years back, but you can make the best out of what you have now & you are doin that. That's all you can do.

@northstar68 Sorry for your loss, God Rest His Soul.
No YT at that time or at least I was not hooked up on it, camcorder on the dash since 2001 but everything transferred onto VHS tapes, the medieval VCRs, right? Dec '01 drove thru Hoover Dam, camcorder (an old Sony running on H8 tapes) on the dash, video still on some old VHS tape. Beautiful country, GREAT memories.
Forced to live 27 years in a prison called Gulag, so I have a lot to catch up in life, right?

@401RoadWarrior ....yea, there's no way I'd drive it in the winter months either. We were there back in 2001 when husband was still alive & it was Summertime. It was a hot 90 down in Loveland, but nice n cool up the mountain. I think up in Jellystone it was in the 50's when we woke up in the morning. That woulda been cool to see all of that trip of yours in o7. I'm really cravin a road trip.

@northstar68 Driving tru the Rocky Mts is a God-given thrill but also I will never drive that area during the winter months, freakin' dangerous with snow or ice on the road, tire chains a MUST if you have to do it Dec-March. You need a couple of life spans to visit each and every small place in America, right? And in the very same '07 trip, from Utah (Zyon Canyon and Salt Lake) down to Grand Canyon (North Rim) then back north to ID, MT, WY (Mt Rushmore & Sturgis), MN, Chicago and Detroit.

@401RoadWarrior ....Topeka, KS is an area that I know the tornados go thru. we experinced one when I was 5 or 6 while living there. It took down a massive tree in our back yard. If you want to see some Colorado beauty, go to Loveland & drive up the mountain to Estes Park. It's a resort town compiled of log buildings (which I drool over) & then on up the mountain we stayed in Jelly Stone park & slept on a slope. Great stuff.

@northstar68 Chicago - Des Moines - Kansas City - Colorado Springs - Denver and then all the way to Utah for the canyons. That trip was done in July 2007, I was in a UT truck stop when saw on TV (Fox News) the terrorist bombings in London.

My only thing I was wishing while driving thru your state, Missouri and Kansas as well... no damn tornadoes, looking up to the sky more than to the road LOL God was on my side.
Stay safe and enjoy the weekend.

You mentioned once that you had been to all lower 48 states; when you went to Iowa, where abouts did you go. I live in Ottumwa, IA.
I have read about Gulag. I'm so glad you're away from there now. The stories are horrific.

@northstar68 There is no more Gulag in E EU since end of 1989 (when I left that area), but I was born and lived there for 27 damn long freakin' years, that's a lifetime, right? Can I get all those years back?
