Everyone. Notice how that Volt is endangered. It threatens the OIL business. So now GM is underwater with the fish. If you cannot see how big OIL is pulling its strings to keep gas guzzlers and profits to record highs then I suggest you not get new vision correction but a whole set of new eyes.
I would not be found dead in a foreign car but you go ahead, I live and work in America and the automotive industry is one of the few industries the middle class has left that profits stay in the US, thats just me. But we need an EV from one of the big 3, an EV without all the bells and gadgets that drive up the price. It looks like ford will have an all EV Fusion in late 2010 for fewer than 28k
70 miles per hour. It is kind of expensive, but will put a base prius at the same price as the volt. I think Toyota is going to have a plugin prius about the same time the volt comes out. However, I believe a full electric drivetrain is the way to go. In 5 years if GM sustains itself and the Volt proves to succeed and be available in my area, I will consider one.
GM shot themselves in the foot being so ruthless with destroying the EV1. Now their company is in ruins, and I don't find it a good idea to purchase a GM vehicle. Then I found out that they plan on doing "regional" releases which means here in rural IL, I won't be seeing one for a very long time. So GM can have at it, but I bought a 2010 Prius with the intentions of converting it to a plugin, and modifying it to run both mg1 and mg2 and get up to 70mph on battery alone.
wow bail out GM and watch us go

That sounds really expensive.
