In the late '00s Hercules and Love Affair began splintering into several off-shoot groups. In a moment of either speculation or boredom, journos began wondering aloud whether the group would break up. The band remained together for 2011's Blue Songs, but one of the more modest-sized projects soldiered on with its own release. That group, Jessica 6, was the trio of singer Nomi Ruiz, bassist Andrew Raposo and keyboardist Morgan Wiley. The group's debut See the Light remains in the same ballpark of Hercules, minus some of the occasional dourness. The titles to the lead singles "Fun Girl" and "White Horse" are evidence alone. Hercules fans have plenty of reasons to stick around: Antony Hegarty joins the group on "Prisoner of Love.
