All AT&T brought was a limited data plan that doesn't fit with my porn enthusiast lifestyle.

Samsung was never Goldstar, dude. That was LG and if it wasn't for AT&T, none of them would had achieved the level of success they enjoy today.

That would actually be Xerox, M$, IBM, Samsung (back when they were goldstar) and GOOGLE.

I got a used printer/scanner/copier a few years back -- it also had a fax feature. It immediately became handy for turning in forms at work without having to make extra trips to the office. They prefer faxes because they get things right away instead of having to do the multi-step process of finding and opening the email, opening the attachment, and actively printing it.

It's true that we as society have these things, but AT&T wasn't the company that brought or commercialized those products.

The place where I work still uses a fax machine. Quite a few businesses still use them actually. I don't know of anyone who still uses them for personal use though.

Merriam-Webster: smartphone: a cell phone that includes additional software functions (as e-mail or an Internet browser) Earliest use: 1997. Your quote, "by modern smart phone, i mean," doesn't mean it's right. You have the wrong definition. Now, let's see about your "definition": "a giant slab with a few buttons, and a touch screen, with an OS." Search for "Treo 180g." Giant Slab? Yes. Few Buttons? Yes. Touch Screen? Yes. OS? Yes. (Palm OS) Now, go sit in the corner, and shut up.
