Young Jerry Lawler, along with tag team partner Jim White, sit with the host to discuss the card and presumptuously veto various tag teams which have expressed an interest in challenging Lawler and White for their title belts. This funny segment is part of John Cazana's Wide World of Wrestling (Knoxville, TN).

  • This has to be the oldest existing footage of Lawler...

  • Big Jim Hess, Nobody, but NOBODY gives you a better home than Clayton Mobile Homes!

  • @mamacornettesmoney LMAO!!! Jim White is buff as hell...

  • Damn this was when he Dated Girls somewhat closer to his Age & the Tenn: state Consent laws where around 12 or 13

  • @excelsior544 It says a lot about Lawler's legacy as a draw and the respect he has within the WWE when The Miz personally chose him to be his first title contender.

From this hick scene in Knoxville, to being fancied as the Elvis of wrestling in Memphis and then on to the David Letterman Show. Who's a thunk it from this : )) BTW, I grew up in in Western VA, watching this and other small-time shows from East Tennessee. Big-time stars were, of course, the exception, so it was a real thrill when people like Ronnie Etchinson, Sam Steamboat, and the Von Stroheim's visited these shows.

  • oh my goodness, how old was Lawler here? wow. *chuckle* a long way from the "King" image isn't he?

  • @excelsior544 wow, he sure has.

  • @joethecabdriver Yeah, Jim White was a pioneer in the use of steroids in wrestling.

  • @joethecabdriver Ken Lucas did the same "disguised as generic masked wrestler" gimmick with Ricky Morton as his partner when Tully Blanchard and Gino Hernandez were ducking them in SWCW. Then Ricky Morton did it as Mr Wrestling I & II with Robert Gibson as his partner in Mid-South against the Midnight Express. Then the Midnight Express did it again with Dusty Rhodes and Magnum TA as their opponents (The James Gang).
