@funkyfox63 Mostly nowadays are chain types, but yeah you have a point

anyway what I mentonned is that this Mazda system reacting a bit quicker means it is also safer.

But it isn't perfect either

You want start and stop: get rid of the starter and the alternator  place a a electro magnetic system arond the Crankshaft between the engine and the gearbox. This will act as a powerfull starter without the wear and tear and also as an electromotor when you speed up. And as an alternator

those european bosh system start stop system might be very dangerous !! if you have to sort out quickly

over time wear and tear will damage starter and flyghwheel crouwn maybe also distort the flighwheel

this can jam the starter and you remain as a melon in the middle of a crossroad with the green light.

That car result in a whiplash or death if someone slams in your rear
