This is not an mmo ok World of warcraft was also not the first game to have skill trees are wepon and armer pick ups so its A futuristic RPG end of story.

You can mix it up but you can only get 1 type of spider skill i believe. not to mention some abilities look like they are only available if you go down a certain path.
