December 2011, New York NY: Mark Sanchez, Rex Ryan, and the New York Jets are moving from the gridiron to the silver screen to star in a humorous Pepsi MAX commercial directed by acclaimed cinematographer / director Joe Pytka.
The 30-second spot entitled "Locker Room" portrays the New York Jets in their natural environment - the home team locker room at half-time. However the team is losing and head coach Rex Ryan bursts into one of his patented tirades as his players hang their heads in shame and dissolution.
Suddenly, a Pepsi MAX delivery truck crashes through a brick wall in the locker room. The driver emerges and tosses ice-cold cans of Pepsi MAX to the flustered coach and his team while delivering an inspirational speech. The players snap out of their collective funk and begin to clap in rhythm. A burly Jets lineman has tears running down his cheek. Star quarterback Mark Sanchez takes a gulp of Pepsi MAX and is instantly refreshed and addresses his teammates. The team is immediately rejuvenated and proceeds to run through another brick wall!
Ryan and the Pepsi MAX driver stand among the ruins of the Jets' locker-room as rubble continues to fall from the walls.
Behind-the-scenes, the Jets, their coach, Pytka and his crew clearly enjoyed the filming of the Pepsi spot amidst practical jokes, false stars, and good natured ribbing. The famed director was impressed with the team's acting skills and cohesion. The players and coach expressed their admiration for Pytka's prowess in directing which put them at ease before the cameras.
The spot will air nationally on Saturday's telecast of the NY Jets game against the NY Giants and then begin in rotation in January.
@1234coolman bullshit.mark sanchez plays for a big market team, went to a popular school, is a minority qb, and is handsome. it has nothing to do with his skill. he threw 12 tds and 20 ints in his rookie year. "but he was a rookie!" so what? he had four count em FOUR probowl offensive lineman. top rushing attack in nfl. top defense in nfl. and still looked like garbage. if you put matthew stafford on that team(who has no commercials) and they win the superbowl. he isnt a qb who can carry a team.

Jets are such a classy team to take time off their busy schedule to make this wonderful commercial.

How Mark Sanchez keeps getting in commercials I'll never know. One of the worst QBs in the league.

lol it's funny cause none of them are friendly, and they're all whining about each other because they didn't make the playoffs
