w w w.youtube.com/watch?v=NtQeDTLR32I This vid is a must see as it has portions of Rena's S-Cup 2010 matches. Of particular interest was Rena VS Hisae. Rena totally dominated Hisae!
Rena is way too nice & humble. If it was someone else, she would probably have mocked Hisae at the end of the match & said "I thought you said you were going to knock me out? Look who's on the mat now?". But that is exactly what is so awesome about Rena. She doesn't trash talk. She let's her fighting skills do the talking. No point boasting and ending up on your butt after that. Win first THEN boast. Or take a leaf out of Rena's book & win & still remain humble.
I think its just excuses. Hisae got her butt handed to her by Rena and now she's running away. Not a bad idea since Rena would probably cream her again if they had a re-match. I just wish Rena had won by submission instead of TKO. Would have been great seeing Rena force Hisae to tap out. That would've been the ultimate ending but a win's a win. Hisae can go back to her "longer matches" which she "prefers". Shootboxing will not miss her with a champ like Rena around.
Hisae Watanabe has no honor!! She was so confident of defeating Rena that adcombat website quoted her as saying she would retire if she lost. After an embarrasing 2nd round TKO loss to Rena, I suspected Hisae would not honor her words & I was right. mmarising website reports that Hisae is considering returning to MMA and was quoted as saying she did not care for the short rounds used in shootboxing.
@ushireborn Rena is not only very technical but also has amazing speed & stamina. Hisae was overwhelmed by Rena's speed. Rena is petite but is damn strong in both upper & lower body. Her punches & kicks are just scary. She may not be as muscular as Hisae but Rena is just as strong if not stronger. No one else in the history of the sport has knocked Hisae down & Rena dropped her twice - once after the other. When was the last time anyone saw Hisae on her hands & knees in pain unable to stand?
Check out headkicklegend website. It reported that Rena faced MMA star Hisae Watanabe, the clear #2 in Shootboxing. Since she defeated the #2, I guess that makes Rena the #1! That website also reports that Rena has cleaned out Shootboxing's women's division over the past 2 years. Ha! I bet no one expected a 19 year old to come in & haul ass! Rena ichiban!!
Hoho, check out adcombat dot com. During the press conference Hisae was quoted as saying "It would be no fun to see RENA win the tournament. I am thinking, if I lose to RENA, I will retire. I won't say 'I will dominate' but I will do the fight RENA doesn't like, and I will win". Well Hisae not only did NOT win as she predicted but looks like she's put her foot in her mouth saying she will retire if she loses. Let's see if she honors her words & retires. I doubt it! Rena rules!!
Hisae is my fave female fighter but she needs to train to be more technical. RENA is a very technical striker and Hisae is a headhunter who many times relies too much on her power up top. su hi ham once proved this point to a T.
In practically every interview she did, Rena was nothing short of humble. I think she still can't believe she's fared so well. Short of professional jealously, I honestly can't see what caused Hisae to bitch so much about Rena. Not that it matters. First of all, Rena knows her fans are aways behind her. And secondly, Rena has already done what few (if any) people have done i.e. defeat Hisae by TKO in under 2 mins in just the second round. That alone speaks volumes!
