how do keep the opals from fracturing during the cutting process? I have attempted to cut several stones and they form inclusions when i cut them even though i'm using water on the wheel to cut them, also i don't have alot of money so im using a cheap 3inch grinder with a hard stone wheel for cutting and a softer bristly wheel for polish and then i move on to a fine sand paper. could you give me any tips, thanks and i love the videos very informative.

@blackopaldirect That's silly. NOVA wheels can certainly be used on harder stones. Of course they wear out, eventually, but that is to be expected.

What an interesting video! Are the Nova wheels used specifically on opals? I'm interested in lapidary, but am pretty clueless right now :)

yes i think its a great idea Justin ! let us know on your upcoming videos if your going to have a go !
Yes the nova wheels are mainly for opal. they will wear out if you use harder gemstones on them and they are expensive. I hope this helps.
