  • Yes the nova wheels are mainly for opal. they will wear out if you use harder gemstones on them and they are expensive. I hope this helps.

  • I am so glad The it helped you. Thanks for watching :-)

  • Yes I am in the throws of doing some webinars online where I can give a chunk of information and then answer questions. What do you think?

  • how do keep the opals from fracturing during the cutting process? I have attempted to cut several stones and they form inclusions when i cut them even though i'm using water on the wheel to cut them, also i don't have alot of money so im using a cheap 3inch grinder with a hard stone wheel for cutting and a softer bristly wheel for polish and then i move on to a fine sand paper. could you give me any tips, thanks and i love the videos very informative.

  • @blackopaldirect That's silly. NOVA wheels can certainly be used on harder stones. Of course they wear out, eventually, but that is to be expected.

  • What an interesting video! Are the Nova wheels used specifically on opals? I'm interested in lapidary, but am pretty clueless right now :)

  • Thank you Justin. I finally got my Pixie. It just came in today. I am really nervous about starting but I have much material to work with. I feel much much confident after watching yet another one of your great videos.
