Ave Maria by Gounod. Allied Arts Competition 2011.

The Twist: Kung Fu Fighting (cover) by Cee Lo Green and Jack Black

The Allied Arts Competition at The International Whistlers' Convention is -the- must see of the whole weekend. The coolest thing about this night is that you know everyone's a great whistler, and then you get to see them use their "other" instrument. Maybe that's a violin, or a trumpet, or piano or guitar... but whatever it is, it maybe even came before that person figured out how to whistle.

In the case of me and my sister, my "instrument" was dancing, and hers is her (awesome) voice. The Whistling and Kung Fu both came later for us, but they are near and dear to our hearts. Not to mention, they also saved our butts in this case. This skit is a true story. We were supposed to do the Ave Maria and I was ill-prepared (for several reasons). So... we pulled out all the stops and featured my sister's OTHER kick-ass talent. This is truly a "Helm" performance. Some of you already know what that means.

Someday we'll get back to that Ave Maria... but for now, it'll have to wait.

BIG thanks to Eric Aranow again for the recording! Great job on this one!
