Lol, I guess I'm not alone on this. I got the famous 1966 corelli-nilsson turandot on itunes conducted by FMP, and some of his conducting is just weird. I mean it's fine overall, but there's some very unusual, choppy, over-staccato stuff that he does. Also some sections where the trombones are a bit too loud, like a high school marching band. :-P

Actually, 56 isn't old at all for a tenor...some never sounded better than they did around their fifties...
Excellent work by Tucker here, and thanks for posting it Moorhe!

Terrific. Simply great Puccinian singing.

wonderful and again remarkable that a singer could be still be singing renditions that can merit the term "best" or "second best" of an aria at 56 yrs old! thanks much
Man. Just listen to this rich, vibrant voice filling the Met:). Nobody like Tucker today --

"Francesco Molinari-Pradelli conducted, unfortunately."
HAHA!!! you're harsh man! disparaging your OWN video! :-P agreed though, he was one of the most overrated conductors ever.
tucker is in ship-shape here, wow. really a tenor at the top of his game.
the recording is playing a tiny smidge slow, though. but nothing to worry about! :-)
thx for the upload.
