no comments? how could this be? this is one of the stones' greatest songs. it's up there with No Expectations, You've Got the Silver, Moonlight Mile, Shine a Light, and Stuck Out All Alone, another great'unknown' stones' song. Red Wine has some of the most rich yet cool textures of any of their songs. Its texture of lush guitars and forlorn lyrics reminds me of Everlasting My Love (digi title). [titled Lies (2) on cover] 1990 italian boot of Some Girls outtakes, different from the posted EML.

Beautiful . . . Jagger sounds a lot like Ray Davies here and this sounds a lot like the KInks . . . (This is not a knock on anybody so don't get all bent out of shape and say "You should say 'The Kinks sound like the Stones!!!'" Relax, I'm just noting a similarity between my two favorite rock singers.)
