Dear chrisprimera - given that by your profile you are (1) a bus driver & (2) employed by FirstBus, I can fully understand your stance. However, the facts speak for themselves and your customers - many of whom have no alternative which they take full advantage of - obviously do not agree. I agree they are big, they should be given their extreme, continual price hikes.

If the original ad was not so far removed from the truth with it's happy customers (&drivers) then there'd be no parody required.

Thank God Stagecoach run by my house. Faster, cheaper, and the bus driver doesn't stare at my jugular when I get on. First are by far the worst bus company I have ever seen, and 90% of the problem is the surly, ignorant drivers.

I'm guessing someone had just watched their advert before they threw the brick at Chrisprimera...

First are only interested in bottom line profit, and they constantly penny pinch and do not maintain the buses very well at all. They are currently in process of flogging off large chunks of the company that do not make the 18% required by the shareholders. Management treat staff like dirt too, that is why you often find the drivers grumpy. Those who think Worst are a great company should try working for them. Within a week they would soon change their attitude.

@TheDirector17 I wasn't specifically pointing at the simple name change, it was just a simple example of change, and considering the changes I've seen in the Greater Manchester area, I truly believe that First are making a turn for the best.

@P528LND And you think that a change of name from "FirstGroup" to "FirstBus" is going to change a lot? We are talking about a company of huge proportions and frankly I think it will require more than a minor change in branding to make their service improve hugely. For what it's worth, I think that First provide a reasonably decent service where I come from, and I have few complaints - but I don't expect many substantive changes to come out of a minor branding change.
