How does the cholesterol making enzyme exist in the liver? If cholesterol is a powerful antioxidant why doesn't it prevent it's self from oxidizing before a heart attack?
@nhbsteve I know this is a bit late, but I would be happy to cite some of his sources. This information can be found in "Good Calories, Bad Calories" By Gary Taubes. "The Great Cholesterol Con" By Malcolm Kendrick. "The Cholesterol Myths" By Uffe Ravnskov, and yes all three of them are doctors. And of course the documentary, "Fat Head" by Tom Noughton, which takes a short look into all three of them.
It's all about asking the right questions, the more questions we ask, the more we'll know.
Care to cite sources of your information (particularly "more people have heart attacks with normal cholesterol than elevated", "statin drugs don't change mortality from heart attacks and strokes" i.e. specific articles)? How about quantifying the damage done to the liver and providing rates and sources of information for neuropathy, joint pain, ligament and tendon damage, muscle wasting, muscle atrophy (presumably in the form of rhabdomyolysis), heart failure. How does cholesterol heal arteries

Are you suggesting that statins reduce or otherwise measurably affect brain mass or function? Thanks in advance.
