You would have to be daft to think a DINO Texas congressman would endorse Obama in a district such as his. Get real. Those damned Nader voters in Florida gave us what we have had to deal with for the last eight years. Surely you know that by voting for Nader and, thus, giving us McCain-Palin would be as destructive to the world as Nader's 2000 gift to the world, Bush-Cheney.
Pragamatism please!! Rigid ideological idealism is like fool's gold. It has to tempered with pragmatic reality!

I've known Chet (as his golf coach & friend) since he was a soph @ Houston Spring Branch Memorial HS. He is no DINO. He is a smart, pragmatic Dem who knows how to beat Republicans in a 65% gerrymandered Repub district w/o selling out his core principles.
I'm a Ralph Yarborough "Yellow Dog" Dem who would not politically support a close friend, not even Chet, if he were a DINO. Chet a thinking Dem; not a lock-step lib ideologue. Lock-step libs are why Texas is a Republican state now.

Today (August 19, 2008) Biden said he's "not the guy". This, in my opinion, is the guy.
