Muskingum, the four-seed, opened day two of the tournament with a 15-11 win against third-seed John Carroll University. The victory marked Muskingum's first OAC Tournament victory since 1992.
The Muskies were led by the senior tandem of Wes Carder and Brock Whiteman. Carder tied a tournament record for hits in a game with his five-hit performance with four runs and three RBIs. Whiteman added eight RBIs with two three-run home runs and a two-run single. Junior Forrest Wright notched three hits and two RBIs, while junior Erik Spitzer, sophomore Colton Newell and freshman Alex Vacarro all logged two hits each. Newell also belted a home run and Vaccaro scored three runs.
The Muskies scored 13 runs through the first four innings to take control of the outing. Muskingum ended the outing with 19 hits.
Sophomore starter Isaac Free scattered 12 hits in seven innings of work to earn his fifth win of the campaign.
