MrJonathanSarkos, you are completely correct. I am wishing i had such a voice so i could voice the poem myself and post it. No doubt this is a good audio version though.

No doubt that JEJ has exceptional voice, but in my opinion he is reading too fast, his voice is not weak and weary, there are parts which should have been just whispered, others to be read with emotional commitment .He is like narrator, not character.

@MrJonathanSarkos
I agree completely. There is much more emotion in this work than he translates in his version. There are parts that are perfect, but so many others that seem to miss the point, almost as if he's just reading it through jaded eyes of a master voice-men.

My dear English, American, Australian and New Zealand friends. You have original and that's of course superior forever. But what I have in my language is 6 different translations and each of them is a pleasure to read.

BTW Nobody who I found on youtube is reading this masterpiece as it should have been read.

Poetry is entirely subjective. Nobody can tell what the meaning of the poem is *for sure*, what eap was trying to accomplish *for sure*, or how it is to be read *for sure*. There's no right or wrong in poetry.
