  • How can she understand what she is saying? I mean, she can read and write and understand words but if she's NEVER heard a spoken word or heard anything, then how would she know what sounds make up which words, you know? And she speaks very eloquently. I'm just confused. But I do hope this isn't fake.

  • Google Zeitgeist 2011 brought me here also. my husband and i thought this video was absolutely amazing. it's incredible what modern medicine and technology can do. congratulations on your implant and good luck! :)

  • @mojination What could possibly someone get for trying to fake a video like this? Doesn't make sense. The video is touching and a tearjerker.

Also, Google Zeitgeist 2011 brought me here as well.

  • @mojination Maybe by years of reading lips, watching movies, reading, etc. I know what you are saying, and to an extent the person would have no idea what particular sounds sound like. This video is amazing no matter.

  • Yeah I don't know roguexvampire I think you're talking outa your arse. How about this: If she was born deaf how can she understand the language being spoken to her at all? Forget how she speaks, how does she know what the woman says to her? If you never heard the sounds of the alphabet how do you know what a word sounds like?

  • @brettfavredrew Most of them can not, but their parent's can train them like we were trained to speak. It is a miracle that people can hear after being deaf for so long... Hopefully technically will be good enough that people will not be born with anything wrong.

  • Great that you can hear and all. but i have to ask because im dumb to this . if you never was able to hear how do you know to speak so well? i thought deaf ppl couldnt speak right. Not doubting just wondering :)
