A short Surrealist animation from Denmark which begins with a zoom into a Paul Delvaux painting, then reverses the process by pulling back from a continually changing picture. Recorded from a BBC2 screening in the late '80s/early '90s.

  • I have been searching the internet for over 10 years for this, having long ago lost my only tape of it, and not remembering what it was called or who made it, and with only a vague recollection of details, though a strong memory of the gently disorientating journey. thankyou so much for posting it

  • @gavinbrockis Thanks Gavin, and everyone. I'm delighted this has provided such enjoyment, I'm so pleased I've been able to help share this great piece of work.

  • You're welcome. Hypnotic, isn't it?

  • WOW!

  • hold da kæft et fantastisk værk

  • Fantastic to watch this again, after all these years! I also had one grainey copy on vhs, lost in a box. Can still remember scrambling to get a tape in the slot and press record. Mucho thankyou!

  • Many thanks. I have a poor-quality 20 year old vhs tape of this broadcast. I've been looking for a good copy for a long time.

  • This is quite possibly the most wonderful piece of artwork I have ever seen.

  • Fantastic. Thanks for the upgrade in quality!

    My favourite animation.
