When I was young I sung this song too, but what you certainly do not know is that the poem of Heine which are the lyrics of Schuman's song, Heine wrote as a spiting image to an very old and ugly lady. Thats black houmor! <3 <3 <3 Jimmy.

SO beautiful!! When I was first learning this song, Kiri Te Kanawa's version is the one I used as my guide. It's definitely the best I've heard!

I realy like this piece (and I am currenly working on it) and I really like the dynamic work and facial expression she puts into it. Also I just enjoy this piece by Schumann.

I am currently singing this piece and although I do love Kiri, I think that she takes it just a touch too slow. Such a gorgeous art song by Schumann however.

Heinrich Heine wrote that poem.... It was written for Therese Heine. I just found out that Schumann composed the music to it later.

I love her with this genre, it's definitely a forte of hers. Voice is like butter.
