The person who owns this dog and refuses to surrender her is IGNORANT, UNEDUCATED and just plain STUPID! Ist of all if you can not afford to properly take care of a dog or any other animal - DO NOT COMMIT TO OWNING ONE!!!! 2nd of all it has been proven that domesticated animals are a product of their environment, they are not born this way. If this lady is affraid of the dog why not give it to people that can treat it right and rehabilitate the dog?

@serette7 How do you know I care more about animals that humans? We're talking about this specific case of this dog. Being kept in a small box, being fed random scraps, having to live in filth, and having severe heartworms all equal neglect. If you know what you are talking about...prove it? What knowledge do you have that apparently no one else does?

End Bredd Specific Legislation - Deed, not Breed! Just because a dog ia breed doesn't mean it's vicious - it's HOW it is brought up that counts! The problem is when people get these 'vicious' looking dogs and make them become that way that the problems start, NOT when the dog is born.

Why are you spreading such lies? This dog was DEFINITELY neglected. It was dirty, she wasn't being fed dog food, and heartworms is DEADLY and she has them severely. She also hadn't had vet work in several years. SoCo is an animal rescue group, they aren't in it for anything but the animals. How are you so ignorant?

Only heart worms? Really? If a dog has heart worms, it is blatantly obvious that the dog was not cared for. Realize that heart worms are fatal. And did you not see the photos of her living conditions? Her drinking water was brown. It's just absolutely ridiculous someone would make a dog live that way for so long. She only changed the dog to a not so better pin when she got caught! Stick your butt in feces filled box with mud for water and tell me how you like it then!

@serette7 First of all im white & where I live all the time it is black's being reported on the news for various crimes. All I was saying besides the racism, was that who in there right minds build's a dog house like this. Materials don't really cost much like 2x4's, screws, shingles for the roof & plywood for the flooring instead of using wooden pallets that can break easily. If I offend u, Im sry but the fact of the matter is that I live in L.I.- N.Y & black's are always committing crimes.
