As for the "Willie Nelson" thread: If you check, you'll see the poster is NOT a native speaker of English, which makes it more likely he or she could confuse the sound of "Brian Wilson" with that of "Willie Nelson." Would I be correct in thinking none of you who complain have EVER made a mistake in public?

A pre-eminnent poet/philosopher/composer singing a favorite song and playing his very favorite guitar. Exquisite! I don't know how turnnig art into a competitive sport by ranking or assigning scores to it helps anyone experience the pure pelasure of something this good. Fine arrangement well payed on a first-quality vintage instuemt, sung expressively with great love by a superb and highly experienced performer. What's not to like?

@mysterytrain74 rather mundane? Are you serious?

It is impossible not to be amazed by the breadth of Paul Simopn's talent.
He elevates a rather mundane song to such heights.
PS- to all the guitarists- why isn't more said about his playing? Paul Simon makes other guitarists sould like they have fingers missing. How great would it be if Paul did an extensive how to play series?
The guy is the Greatest.

Brian´s tribute!!!!!!!

now if he could pull his bloated head out of his ass and tally up with Garfunkel, i wont hold my breath
-
he rips this song beautifully to bits..from what it was *which was also beautiful*
its basically paul simons song here...with how hes changed it...and stunning...
one of my favourite paul simon performances..
my favourite performance of his, outside of simon and garfunkel (second only to his performance of "homeward bound" with george harrison)

You said it all.One of the best versions of a song I`ve ever heard. Probbably the best.

Willie Nelson? What are you smokin"?
A big failing in 99% of musical covers making major departures from the original: the performers do remotely approach the musical talent and sensitivity of Paul Simon. Which is not to say that what he does here is fundamentally non-replicable, only that few others ever do. Simon's alterations here ADD to the original WITHOUT DETRACTING from it. Everything beautiful in the original that is possibly captureable with one voice and guitar is rendered flawlessly, as are his well-fitting additions.

This is a Brian Wilson tribute, obviously!
