You should be ashamed of what you are doing! It's all a lie! These horses are not going to good homes! They are going to kill buyers that are taking them to be slaughtered! May god rest their souls and punish those that help take their lives! Good luck on judgement day! You'll need it!
@horselover554 Contd: I (Shari Warren speaking) hope I educated you a little more and would be happy to get further into details with you or anyone else on the pros and cons of BLM bringing in animals. I am now Vice President of the National Wild Horse Association and you can get my email address from the web site listed in the video.
@horselover554 Contd: NWHA feels that helicopters play an important role in the gathers and there are good pilots and not so good pilots. Some of them are "gentle" when they push the horses towards the gather location and there are some that can be very pushy. I did hear that they are paid by how many head of animals they bring in so if they get to careless and to pushy they may not bring them all in.
@horselover554 Contd: They are humanly euthanized if they are sick, injured or very, very old. There have been deaths in the holding facilities but I believe most of that comes from under nourished horses coming in to the facility and getting fed alfalfa hay which is cheaper than the grass hay which they should be getting when they first come in.
@horselover554 Contd: Just so you know there are no slaughter houses open in the US, they are now located in Mexico and Canada and it is illegal for BLM to sell horses to slaughter and they try very hard not to sell wild horses to people who may send them to slaughter. As for the horses dying BLM does not kill horses at the gathers unless it is necessary.
@horselover554 Response contd: I would rather see them come in and get fed steady meals than starve to death but if they are still healthy on the range I hope BLM leaves them out there.
@horselover554 This is the response from Shari Warren: BLM decides when horses and burros need to come in from the wild. It is determined by how many animals are using the amount of land and how much food and water there is to sustain a certain amount of animals. BLM calls it AML or Appropriate Management Level.
