New Sundown SA 12's

My review on these new subs by sundown audio. Box is 3cubes net with 14sq inches of port area per cube tuned to 30 hertz. Pair is seeing 1400rms and have not broken in yet.

They sound really good, better than Hype R's and other middle range drivers. Overbuilt subs for a 600rms rating and can handle much more. They are very accurate and they sound great on all types of music.

A noteworthy feature is that these things LOVE the lows. They are barely moving and they kill the lows.

Subs I have listened to: DD 9500 12's and 15's , Alpine Type R, AQ HDC315, AQ SD2.5's, Rockford P3, IA DP 21's, and probably others but those are the ones I can think of right now.

For their price range they really cant be beat and I cant wait for these babies to break in!

That box is a little too small, SA-12's require at least 1.75 cu. ft.

I bet if you build a new box, they'll sound even better.

I am thinking of putting some polyfill in the box. I just need to find a way so it won't blow out of the port haha that would probably make the box about 1.75 per sub. Look at the newer vid with a Orion 2500d pushing these babies, wayyyyy better

sundown actually requires 1.75 cube per sub and if over powering them bye alot they tell you to reduce the box size...

I have my box tuned to around 35.5hz how do the rock songs with the kick drum sound at 30hz? I was at 34.5hz but the kick drums were lacking they are a little better now but still lacking that feel in my chest.

@williambrea Polyfill is not going to do anything in a ported box, nice setup just go bigger if you can!!
