why not, f.e. just Rh3 ..., and then Rdh8??
I agree, forced line is nice and always better, but it's not universal, f.e. if no pawn in g6/f6/nd7 -- it just not works.

Chigorin did not find the mate in the game. He played b6 and the game was drawn a few moves later.
