With this video, I'm getting a little closer to actually explaining things. You might even say it's starting to look like some kind of tutorial. ;)

This time I'm scraping the surface of the Fruity Loops plugins "Vocodex" and "Gross beat". For the last couple of days I've been experimenting with my new Shure PG48 mic, and I thought, "why not share some of my experimentations?" :)

Now this is nowhere near a complete track, and It's not that well arranged, but as I said, this is a experiment. ;D I just hope that this'll help some of you out there! :D

Why not send me a message about music? Feel fre to add me as a friend, and if you'd like to be notified about my next video, press the shiny yellow subscribe button!

  • How do you automate Vocodex to change the notes?

  • If you don't own a MIDI keyboard you can still change the notes while recording, but you will have to do it by right clicking on the on-screen keyboard in the vocodex. Left clicking will create chords, and right clicking selects single notes.

Now I'm not sure if it really is impossible to automate the notes, as I haven't had time to experiment with all the features yet. But if you time your clicks right, you can still get awesome results!

  • Scratch that. I JUST found out how you can "automate" the changes.. You don't really make an automation clip, you get a "carrier plugin" to do the job. The 3xOsc works perfectly for the job!

The process is actually quite hard to explain in writing, and without images. If you want to know how to do it, you can PM me and I'll sen you a short recording 8)

  • I can just say i totally agree Gross Beat is probably one of my favorite effect plugins

If you have a sound want to sound rythmic , backwards whatever Gross Beats delivers its really the Wizard plugin that delivers inspiration when all other plugin fails. Hehe ^^ Can i ask how you learned to route sounds in FL studio i can see i have a lot to learn yet would be interesting to know if you had any links to share or maybe make a tutorial in the future, would be appreciated...

  • Oh absolutetly! I have a perfect project for a routing "tutorial" video :D. I'll just have to try and explain everything as clearly as I can. :)
