I recently purchase Roman Polanski's, classical comedy, 'The Fearless Vampire Killers' on DVD. Iove the vampire classics, but Christoher Lee as Dracula is the true master. I'am a BIG fan and collector of his vampire and Hammer horror movies. It most be my youth sentiment. Thanks again mate.
Good VHS quality. Back in the 70's, before I become a teenager I saw this movie. Even french spoken and Dutch subtiteled I enjoyed watching this movie. Where and how can I buy or get this on VHS/DVD. I rather prefer it on DVD with English subtiteled. Its not available in Holland. I will be happy to purchase this movie when I can see it from the wide screen on the loungeseat. Much thanks for posting.
OH! Congratulations!!! Now your DVD library is richer for yet another classic! (I'll have to follow your lead, thanks for the info concerning original French audio, wasn't sure about it!) Thank You!
@DracAndSon1976 I've just bought the German DVD. :D It does contain the German and French version. Only the frames with the turning of the book, '3 years later' and such, remain in German.
Once again, thank you for putting this movie on youtube, if I hadn't seen it here I wouldn't have ordered the DVD.
I wish I spoke French! I'd love to see this in a proper English dub, or even English subtitles. I watched the American-release version, and I have a very strong suspicion that they undercut all the subtlety of both the horror AND the comedy.
No no, unfortunately only German language got the DVD release - other two did not - it seems they will not either, at least for a while. Well, better something than nothing. Glad you've seen this one!
One of Chris Lee's hidden gems, IMHO!!! Not only a great vampire flick, but also one of those rare occasions where the Horror/Comedy mix actually works! I've got the 2005 TOBIS Region 2 German release. The DVD offers only the German and the original, uncut French version (sorry, but the DVD doesn't offer the English dub or even English subtitles, for that matter). But the print quaily is pristine!!
This is the last Dracula film played by the best Dracula ever, I mean Sir Christopher Lee.
