Keith Whalen - Forlorn (Variation Concept)

5:37 - 6:55 Funeral March (concept)
6:57 - End Vamp and solo on the theme.

This piece is something I wrote out of frustration, it has some weird, sombre and almost dissonant chords. It's far from finished but the concept is interesting, the end vamp has a bit of a gypsy-jazz flair to it.

I'd certainly take you up on that offer man, I don't play with enough serious musicians and maybe that's my downfall. Your comments give me the inspiration to continue to write music the way I think I should, I'm glad it's being enjoyed for what it is!

The opening variations are one takes I think. The solo at the end is done in two parts, both of which were improvised with a couple of recurring solo ideas.
