Remember to move, pulling your opponent with you. Then kick his ankle while the opponent is motion and pull in the opposite direction... the direction the opponent is falling

You can cross your feet when moving in a fight if you are using a specific technique that allows you to do it safely, one technique comes to mind. The opponent in the video goes into a cat stance every time and doesn't really cross his legs, and being in a cat stance is a legitimate fighting position.
