all this was to promote tthe 2 idiots movie and to open up markets for hindi movies in regional areas where Tamil movies was KING. aamir and his team succeeded . In the following years Hindi movies made more money than tamil movies in the region. At least they succeeded in their goal. Talk about marketing genius. !
