@steofairc Don't you realize that Columbia is guiding Matt, every step of the way? The weak Barlow single, the weird non-release of Starlight. It all seemed to be sheer stupidity. But if he was an instant success, he could never get what he craves most, credibility. Being invited to perform at the Isle of White Festival with names like Springsteen and Kings of Leon. It is all part of Columbia's plan to make Matt into an international star. That is why they chose to sign him.

@broken259 From what I know about Columbia's plans for Matt, it is to release Letters world wide around the same time as the second album and then tour the world promoting both albums. I expect Matt to be much more successful outside of the UK, because there is no X factor stigma and the world market is shifting back toward rock. I expect Columbia to really play up successful world sales and drive UK sales back up before the end of the year. But of course we will see what happens.

@nuimaleko7 'Hater' is such a overused idiotic term. I don't hate anyone, and wouldn't waste my energy hating Matt Cardle of all people. This is Matt's 3rd single and it looks set to make little impact on the charts. His album sales aren't bad but there nothing special either. That's glaringly obvious to anyone who is not in denial and saying as much doesn't make me a hater

@nuimaleko7 You are deluded if you think Letters will reach 500K copies sold over the next 8 months. The album is selling about 1 or 2k a week at the moment, and sales are in decline. Realistically he will do well to hit 300K in that time frame.

I'm sure that this comment will get thumbed down until It's not shown because Cardle's fans can't face reality that his career has been far from a run-away success.
