McDonald's Corp. and Illegal Immigration

Once upon a time, McDonald's restaurants provided jobs for our young. It was an American teen's "rite of passage" to work at a fast food restaurant, as these jobs provided invaluable good work ethics throughout one's career.

A movement began around 20 years ago to replace the young workers with limited-English speaking Latin American citizens.

Many, who have long suspected that McDonald's franchises have been hiring illegal aliens, were not surprised that a Nevada franchisee pleaded guilty July 16, 2008 in federal court to felony charges of encouraging illegal immigrants to remain in the United States.

Luther W. Mack Jr. owns 10 McDonald's franchises in Reno and Sparks, Nevada. As the buck has been passed down to his managers, some who will receive prison time, Mr. Mack was not charged in the case. However, someone commented on this video forum that the same people were back in his restaurant several weeks after the September 2007 raid.

On March 26th 2010, Maricopa County, Arizona, executed warrants at four McDonald's restaurants, owned by Richard Coulston. The charges ranged from identity theft and stolen IDs, the same scenario as the Nevada 2007 raids. How much more proof is needed that hiring illegal aliens is common practice among McDonald's franchisers?

"McDonalds is a tradition. We had most of our grandkids work in these fine establishments," Sheriff Joe Arpaio said during a press conference. "We are giving jobs away where our kids that are here in this country legally try to find jobs, and yet these establishments have put the profits before our kids."

While this real law man in Maricopa County, Arizona, has stepped up to the plate on behalf of the people he works for, arrogant police chiefs -- like former L.A.'s William Bratton and Salt Lake City's Chris Burbank -- will defend their sanctuary city policies, refusing to work with I.C.E. to help crack down on employers who hire illegal aliens.

@01prelude09 Maybe the news hasn’t hit you yet, but we have a 20% unemployment rate, if you include those who’s benefits have long expired. As European countries continue to fall under excessive dept, America will feel the pinch; unemployment in the U.S. will almost certainly get a lot worse and knock will at YOUR door. You’ll be happy that there are those of us demanding the few remaining employers hire the American worker first!

@MrWaino On behalf of all of the unemployed Americans in what has become the worse depression since the 1930s, we are very happy for you to be part of the 46% of Americans (USA Today 04/15/2011) still lucky enough to have a job. Stay tuned for more videos to reveal that many U.S. employers who seek low-waged workers now require Spanish as a first language. The main reason is to keep the cost down, knowing they‘ll likely avoid any prosecution.

@dasticksanstonesclub I have two friends one is 15 years old he work as a dishwasher for 10 dollar plus tips an hour (like 15 dollar) and another friend he is 18 he get paid 13 dollar an hour in a factory,so there are preatty good jobs out there for young people like you.But the point here is all the excuses the people said,but nobody whant to work at McDonalds,if you guys start to work in this places I'm for sure the companies won't need foreign help...

@nenitoloco6 I was born here in America and it took me 5 years to find another job. The reason? Because every job that a teenager can do is stuffed full with illegal immigrants. The only reason I got the job I have at Subway is because I'm good friends with both owners. They were able to set me up but it's still hard because it's hard to get help with customers when nobody speaks english. I'm not lazy, I work hard, it's just that nobody wants to hire me when they can get cheap labor instead.
