I studied Arboriculture at Otago 8 years ago. It was a fun year, but not particularly challenging. I left the industry 2 years ago as there was no where left for me to go. It was impossible to advance to a professional level (Arb. Officer) without starting my training all over again. Otago Polytech is good for lifestyle and skills - if you want to learn to sharpen a chainsaw go to Otago Poly. However if you really want to learn about tree care look around at other courses.
