Public spaces within private developments are often subject to vague and unclear rules. Insisting on the right to use these spaces can result in a phone call to the police.
why are these people so anal about their buildings being filmed or photographed? photographers and cameramen all over the world are having this problem which to me is an irrational knee jerk reaction rather than the expression of a genuine security or loss of revenue concern (ie you would have to pay a fee to shoot the building/area): they basically don't want you to take pictures of their building but they cant even explain why.
