About arranged marriages, I've often wondered if all women who are promised to a man are treated exactly the same regardless of beauty? Or is everyone divided not on looks but on family prestige and wealth? This is unusual because instinctively, males do not look for wealth in becoming attracted to a female, it's mostly all about looks.

and yes, some men will settle for the "less than best" female. But I think these guys know they are settling and would instinctively not make that choice.

(cont.) So it's the relative scarcity of such a man that triggers this attraction response initialy. I guess one can say regardless of any woman, certain criteria must be met before they are genuinely attracted... it's just that we may be naturally advatageous in some areas (where we exceed with no effort), and weak in others (where we have to actually do work).

That's why it's good to study these attraction techniques to understand ourselves better.

@pickledtochus - You are right and it reminds me of my own travels abroad. I haven't personally been to asia, but people I know have and they never fail to score big time with very attractive women there. A big reason is that coming from a more prestigeous "high profile" country like the US automatically triggers that "security" instinct in females and high replication value. So a man from the US in asia stands out more than he would in the US and this makes him more attractive by default.

@DavePazz Lots of (ie. most) guys indeed just settle for less attractive women as well. In Toecutter's (a.k.a. Vision, a.k.a. Steve Celeste) words, "Anything is better than your hand.", lol! xD He said that to me once when I turned down a girl that he would not have refused. I guess I am pickier than he is.

I do very well in Brazil and Cuba. I was in the latter last month. I had one f-close, a Russian. The previous time I had 5 Cubans, one Quebecoise and one Italian. Thailand is great too :D

@DavePazz (con't). I have used Mystery's method successfully. I am not saying it doesn't work. My friend's learned strategies share a lot of Mystery's, but unfortunately for him, he made enemies while wooing girls, because he did not fully understand group theory. He almost got beaten up, and had 3 death threats as well, lol!

Also, lots of cultures have arranged marriages, sometimes even between 1st cousins in certain countries. They are not based on males having to compete against other males.

@DavePazz I see your point of view. I do not know how many countries you have been to, though. I had a friend who decided to make himself into a PUA, long before the community existed. He already had an alpha mindset naturally, so he succeeded. However, he did find it tiring after awhile to have to cope with North American girls' snotty attitudes, and so later focused on Latinas and then Asians. He now lives in China, where, in his words, he doesn't have to "work so hard" to land women. (con't)

@pickledtochus - The mating game is played everywhere you go, regardless of culture, in one form or another. There is always a group of women from least desireable (unattractive) to very desireable and a group of men competing for those few attractive ones. That's when it becomes important to "push the right buttons" during an interaction to stand out from the others hitting on her.

So if in those countries the men don't have to stand out, just show up and score with anyone, that's not pick up

@DavePazz Actually, there are cultural variations. Feminism only really took hold in North America. As a result, men in the USA and Canada have had to develop stronger personalties in order to adjust to these changes. In most other countries, women are still more submissive, including Eastern Europe.
