Yes. I remade all the mentor's/keeper's comments into Lingua Latina ;) Why? Because it sounds great in my opinion. And the game promotes it in a way too (when you use a spell or create an imp or during the initial part of Gregorian choir in intro). Whole game is something like a Medieval fantasy... so why not to go ad extremum? I'm not a voice professional, I just used my skills with sound editing, knowledge of Latin and some home equipment.

Anyway, I'm able now to play the game with Latin voice messages instead of those English ones (- the English original was perfect, it was so great *epic* that it inspired me to make a similar version in whatever what sounds same or as good as that....) - so I tried to play few levels like that and it didn't happen that I'd have been confused or so...

So who wants to try it out (and educate himself), download and rewrite these files in your DK directory:
- Voice stored in "Keeper\sound\speech.dat" http://asterix.own.cz/Speech.zip
- Translated menu (so far only menu because I was concentrating on the voice) "Keeper\data\text.dat" http://godmy.ezin.cz/text.zip

- And here is the complete transcription of the original English phrases followed by their Latin translations used by me in-game. If you'd find some grammatical mistake, tell me. http://asterix.own.cz/DK-English_Latin.txt

Level intros and outros weren't added because of technical difficulties...

Also some thanks to: Jon Skeet and Richard Leigh

  • Hey, great job! Can't open the "speech" zip after all. The text file works, the speech file, which is the important one, doens't! Any Idea? I'm using 7-zip and WinZip.

    Thanx, Dread

  • @ExaggeratedDread Gratias maximas tibi ago, amice!

About the issue with unzipping: I've left you a pm :)

  • I don’t even speak Latin and I love this.

  • @Grilinctus I'm glad for that ;)

  • Awesome! Glad to see I'm not the only one with a uselessly over abundant interest in living Latin.
