The kind of horrible and tawdry experiences you can witness in your childhood (like that business with his parents) can motivate you to accomplish tremendous things. I'm not trying to say that it's a good thing to be profoundly disturbed as a child, just that trauma can mould character and he is clearly an exceptional and healthy individual now.

@dek5704 Hear, hear! He is doing a great job. Hell, I am 54 and I would a nervous wreck. It is true that his presentation is not polished -- he is moving too much -- but that may come from his father! And that kind of thing can be remedied in one month of help from some experts.
Plus of which the guy looks as good as Leo DiCaprio.

After reading the biography of Cecil Rhodes in Wiki, I do wonder how one can be a "human rights" activist and a Rhodes Scholar at the same time. Cecil Rhodes, according to Wiki, did not speak well of peoples of color, using the "n.." word copiously. It seems such a contradiction, being a Rhodes Scholar and a human rights activist. I've made some African and African American scholars who've declined the "honor." .
