BMW M3 hill-climb, NSW Macquarie Pass

This footage was taken back in October 2009, when we spent a couple of days with brilliant BMW M3. This particular video was filmed during the Macquarie pass, a hill climb road just 30kms South West.
On a technical note, this was the first video Ive completed featuring a accurate map overlay tracking the cars location as we progress up the hill. This proved pretty time intensive to complete in a accurate way but I am very happy with the tracking results and many thanks to friend Jay Ng for his assistance in this area.

i love the overlay map of the pass as you drive it man thats epic. id really like to do it for my mac pass vids but have no clue how.

Unless you want to waste a whole afternoon then dont do it :) It was very manual as it was all a hand done animation within Adobe. Im sure theres faster ways of doing it, of course if you have a GPS logger that would be an ideal way.

no worries, thanks mate. You boys should borrow 1 of these cars for a week and do a targa TAS haha. Id love to take a gallardo LP-560 up mac pass, can you do one of them next haha.
