  • just open the door a tiny bit for them to touch noses and smell each other...wonder what would happen then... : ) thanks for cat videos too...

  • @sclovesragtimemusic

I considered doing just what you suggested, but then decided not to. Our kitty is an indoor cat only, and I'd just as soon limit contact in order to avoid any contagious problems.

  • I am of the opinion that your cat needs, urgently! some very high doses of JAZZ therapy! It does calm the ruffled ego and soothe the savage breast,as the poet-who?-once said..Keep JAZZing!

  • @Squarerig

I sure it was as simple as adding extra doses of Jazz to her listening diet, but I know that she already has quite a large amount of it already. Maybe she'd calm down a bit if I could teach her to play an instrument. :-)

  • You can say that again, Tom. I just now had a knock on my door from one of my neighbors...a little 2-3 month old kitten...looking for a home. I introduced her briefly to Mink. Mink actually seemed to be okay, but it was the kitten that became very sassy and made Mink run off! LOL

Yes, It's a crying shame that creatures make enemies based on incorrect criteria.

I would like to teach Velvet some manners on how to be more lady like and friendlier to new house guests, but she has her mind all made up, and won't listen to my advice. I know that life would be more pleasant for her if she would listen rather than continue treating this nice kitty like an enemy. Oh well, you know how kitties can be. They have their minds all made up and won't consider fresh ideas about getting along with on new acquaintances. ;-)

Ahh, you clever girl you! I suspect that if those two kitties had met under less confrontational circumstances that they might have been able to develop a life long friendship rather than this obvious knee jerk dislike that one has towards the other. Actually, I think the gray and white kitty would appreciate having a friendly relationship. Isn't it fascinating the lessons people can learn from fighting felines. ;-)

  • "Go get him, Velvet! Go bite him!" I'm sure she was thinking "well...if you'd open that door just a bit further, I would gladly do that and more!!! Raaarrhhhh...!!!". And the gray and white kitty...very pretty! And doing a purry meow! Awwww!!! And just wantin' some luvins!!

  • i think that you could eventually try to tell her that if they had met anywhere else they just could like each other.... maybe even be good friends :-)
