It is about Snape's final moments/regrets and recollections and his lost friendship with Lily, it is also about about how Harry is feeling about the man dying in front of him.

  • That is the saddest video I have ever seen. Perfect song choice and you did an amazing job as usual. They have the saddest love story. Guh. Can't take it. Wonderful though. Wonderful.

  • @ruddyduck Thank you :) For some reason my comments aren't coming through to my email acct any more (probably some stupid filter) anyway thanks for watching

  • @spikesbint Yes, Alec Hopkins (teen Snape) was just perfect wasn't he! I don't know why he wasn't used more either, especially considering (as you've said) how Snape was pivotal to the whole story-line. His whole 'back story' should have been better clarified. As it was, non-HP book readers (such as my hubby), when watching the films - especially DH2 - were not getting the full impact. And indeed many (including my hubby) actually came away from DH2 believing Snape to be Harry's father!! :-)

  • @sevvy253 I agree, Tim Roth would have been seriously miscast, Alan was made for the role and he owned it. I think little Severus was a better cast part than young Lily, she had brown eyes??? What did you think of the casting for teen Severus? I thought that was a bit more realistic. Considering how pivotal Snape was for the storyline, I always felt the film makers seriously underused him.

  • However, for me, it will always be one of the greatest (hidden) love stories/tragedies ever -on par with anything Jane Austen or the Bronte sisters etc. could ever have written. Snape will always remain my 'dark hero' (forget Heathcliffe, Darcy, Mr. Rochester etc. - all parts AR could have played with ease IMHO!) And absolutely no other actor could have played that part aswell as AR. Thank God Tim Roth was otherwise engaged with Planet of the Apes at the time - AR was born for the part! :-)

  • Great job - lovely vid! Despite the film makers managing to get the tragedy of it all across better than I'd feared, I still felt it could have been better. E.g: the actor who played young Snape (Benedict Clarke), beautiful as he was, looked nothing like adult Snape/AR. Benedict's round face/eyes were an unbelievable younger version of AR's long face/almond-shaped eyes. Silly maybe, but IMHO it's the little things that count in such re-telling; AR himself is the 'master' of nuances! :-)
