Hey hostile YouTuber, as backed up by zeus6793 & other posters, there is no cut in this scene. It was done in 1 continuous shot, but was done in 7-8 takes. It's very well-studied by experts better than U & I, & Scorsese has confirmed it. That's Y there is so much hoopla made about this scene--Because there ISN'T a cut. If there were cuts/edits, then it would B just another clever movie scene that's been done numerous times in other movies & videos. Don't B so hostile, Hosstyle....
There is absolutely NO cut. This is well documented, and confirmed by ALL involved. Scorsese was amazed he got it...he said as much. Hosstyle, sorry to tell you, but you are incorrect.
I don't see the cut either, but I can believe it is there based on what I see. It seems like the person who is talking about it (the original one) has a lot of detail as to why and how the cut existed, so perhaps he/she knows something that we don't know?
I don't see the cut, it looks like the camera is just swinging around that turn and that's what makes karen look out of kilter. what scorsese does here is draw us in like we were part of that date, we were part of the crew.
What is so amazing about this video, from a female point of view, is that the fact that it is one continuous shot, and the music, and the angle that it is shot, it really makes you feel what Karen must have been feeling in this scene. This is one of my favorite movie scenes of all time.
I've watched it this supposedely cut like 10 times, even down to the smallest movement of someone's arm is right there. Why would they need to cut it if they got the hardest part over?

Don't B so hostile, Hosstyle....
To All: Scorsese's best movie is "After Hours". If you haven't seen it, you're missing out on the greatest dark comedy in the history of film...
