Shoah
(dir. Claude Lanzmann 1985)
Featuring Simon Srebnik, Michael Podchlebnik, Motke Zaidl, Pan Falborski, Rudolf Vrba, Abraham Bomba.
This six hour cut of the original nine hours of film is a labour of love for its director. He travelled the world in search of Holocaust survivors and persuaded them to tell their story for the camera. The result is something astonishing; a subtle account of how easily genocide can be committed whilst others stand around and watch.
Lanzmann is a member of the faculty at the European Graduate School where he teaches documentary film.

Wait a sec, at 05:22 he says that they fell out when the door was opened. Didnt the door in the gas chamber at Auschwitz open inward?

@ historicrecord: I felt the same about Müller's statement, and it might be interesting for you to know that Filip Muller has written a book about his experiences, 300 pages. I've read a lot of books on the holocaust, but Muller's is the most impressive one.

HIlberg was a great researcher and a superb writer.
Read his "The Destruction of the European Jews" - a masterpiece.

shocking accounts of the Shoah from some of the very few important eye witnesses who survived to tell the tale. Filip Mullers account of the death struggle in the gas chamabers is one of the most shocking I've heard.
