Martin Reisch was travelling to Vermont to deliver Christmas presents to his friend's children. About a half hour from the border, he realized he had left his passport at home. Rather than drive two hours home, he decided to press on. Reisch showed the border patrol agent a copy of his passport on his iPad. Although digital copies are not accepted, the agent made a one-time exception.

@msskool The agent probably didn't get fired. He still verified the identity of the guy, and he's a Canadian, we have priority at US ports of entry :D

They can pull up the number in their computer and your picture and information pops right up on their screen, you should not HAVE to carry it with you if you know the number. Why??
