A Poplar Hawk Moth pumping its wings so it can fly away. I used a Canon 500D and Sigma 105mm Macro lens to shoot this video, sorry for focus not being great, didn't have time to get my tripod. This was taken in my garden. Actually was in garden, came indoors and found this sitting on my shoe! Put it on fence post to warm up and fly away.

  • Awww how cute...... you would think it was in slow motion when it was warming its wings up before flight XD

  • @DeadlyTeaParty Thanks, yeah you would, wouldn't think it was moving its wings quite fast. The camera made the wing beats looks slower than they were for some reason.

  • @DXMorpheus But thats a great way the camera has done that :D

  • @DeadlyTeaParty Your right, it does show how the moth pumps its wings for flight. Getting a Canon 600D in a few weeks so want to do more videos like this with it (has lots of manual video controls my 500D lacks) so I can take better videos
