@VideoDocR first make sure the disk of for example 500 GB partitioned to multiple drives
and save backup by acronis on different drive part (not c) such as d or e or f . and do the booting CD then restore the backup from the part d or e or f to c . thats it .
VideoDocR, you should make a rescue disk from the Acronis program and boot to that disk. Acronis will open in a Linux enviornment, then you can restore your partitions to the same drive you backed up to an external hard drive. if you didn't make a rescue disk prior to when your laptop became corrupted, install Acronis in another computer so you can use the program to make your rescue disc. To boot to your rescue disc tap F12 at bootup or change your boot order in bios settings.
but what if i want to restore from my external hard drive which contains the image, to the my internal hard drive,,, i mean to restore to the same drive,,,
i couldn't find a way to restore to the same drive taht i backed up previously,,,
i want that because if i get a problem with my laptop,, i want to recover to the same internal drive of the laptop,, so i'm not migrating to another hard diskk,, i reallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy couldn't find a wayyyyy for that in Acronis helpppppppppppp
Important question: So if I decide to recover a partition to a new hard drive, but on the same computer with all the same hardware except the new hard drive, I would not need Acronis Universal Restore, correct?

@MasterO2 Correct. You only need the universal restore when restoring to a different computer that has different hardware. Hope this helps.
