@odion07 You guys need to lighten up. There is room for everyone in the Catholic Church. The Tridentine Mass is wonderful and so are contemporary Mass. Remember: the first Eucharist was a very causal passover celebration (probably without music and definitely without Gregorian chant). Christ said, "In my Father's house are many rooms." We have to learn to make room for everyone. Jesus (and the Holy Father and bishops all over the world) have made room for all. Peace be with you.

VersaillesLaNuit... This wasn't the mass, this was the before mass concert, and it was one of the most inspirational things I've ever been to.
Since you're a "sollem liturgy kind of guy" have you considerd trying the Tridentine?

Indeed. I do and I have since my first year in the seminary attended Tridentine Masses; it is glorious. In fact, there is a Tridentine Mass at our Seminary every Friday Morning.

@odion07

@dacatholicbandorgan
Kenrick Glennon Seminary. Probably the only seminary in the world that has a Thomistic Philosophy program (thank you Archbishop Raymond Burke) I am not free to attend Masses where I want on Sundays; I go where I'm told. I do try to attend the Tridentine Mass on first Fridays.

Terrible! And you call this a Mass? This was more like a party, with "Christian-Rock" music. I sew these comments, people saying how much "fun" it was. The Liturgy has notbhing to do with fun, it is the Sacrifice of the Eucharist, therefore it belongs to Christ! It must be celebrated solemnly, not with this irreverent deviation, called "Youth Mass". FYI, I am fervently against Youth/ Folk Mass.

I sympathize with you; I was there so I had to make the most of it.
