  • @THEGATHERING20

I know, but in several interviews he does state that he is indeed self taught. But then you know........Buddy Rich did also say he was self taught so............I guess they are geniuses

  • @STIXAHOY Gene is amazing, to say hes self taught is crazy, he has near perfect technique with his playing, really flawless, thats probably why hes so fat lol, doesnt expend and much energy as other drummer with poor technique.

  • Gene is in a class of his own. This dude has such a good sense of rhythm and phrasing on the kit. And what's worse......the dude is like self taught . You can just hear the rhythmic talent in this dude oozing out from his solos and work with SYL and Fear Factory. Stunning to say the least

  • español : como se llama la cancion con la que gene hoglam toca?

ingles : as it is called the song that plays gene hoglan?

  • @Bassbait What? Not my favorite drummer? What a lie! He's always been my favorite drummer!

He was actually the first drummer I ever noticed. I saw Love? and I was like "a fat guy is able to play that stuff?"

And then later on I learned that Love? is one of the easier songs in his career. I don't know what I was thinking when I said he's not my favorite.

  • Dark Angel ftw

  • @aep531 That makes sense now that I look at the L mounting system

  • @AfterlifeBlack gene plays pearl

  • @VirtualDynamite mechanism

  • yeah this guy lives in my city now....so I ran into him at a Borders when the store was closing down. Talk about random.
