Starting and moving the 59 Bentley S2 out of the garage. Its about 20-25˚F in the garage, and about 15-18˚F outside.. Car runs great now that it is timed and point gapped correctly! A little lifter/valve noise but otherwise a far cry from where it was...
That must be a very early S2. The gear shift looks more like an S1 but that is a Cloud II engine. I am guessing the engine was replaced when they put the grill and rear bumper on since it is a R-R engine. Interesting that they did not change the hood when they made the change.
@ShandyHall It is a very early S2. The engine numbers matched those held by the RR/Bentley club database. You do know that a S2 carried the identical engine to the Silver Cloud II, with the difference being the valve covers? The bonnet would have been the same as well.. only the grill, gauges and rear bumper were changed.
Awsome cold start, I have a 69 Bentley S2 but I'm not so lucky. My choke solenoid is rusted solid so I removed it. Hard to start but it eventually does. Any ideas to get by with?

Taking a look at the steering wheel and instruments I think you have an S1 there, not an S2. Is it a straight 6 or a V 8?

@ShandyHall 1:15 shows it has the V8. It is an S2. It is a 1959. It is a Bentley. It was one of the very first S2s ever made- October 1959.

@zeepers if you have a 69 its a T2, and no I don't have any tips for you except to get yourself a new choke solenoid...
